BSc, Computer Engineering (Smart Computing)
Kyungdong University · Goseong, Gangwon-do, South Korea · Expected 2026
The programme
The Smart Computing track at Kyungdong University combines core computer engineering (data structures, OS, networks) with a heavier emphasis on machine learning, deep learning, and bioinformatics than a typical CS undergraduate.
Senior thesis
Temporal prediction of heart defects from the CheXchoNet dataset. CNN with temporal metadata fusion, AUC 0.79–0.84. Supervisor: Prof. Zubaer Ibna Mannan.
Current research (post-thesis, ongoing)
Non-invasive intracranial pressure estimation in pediatric neurocritical care. Bidirectional LSTM on ABP and CBFV waveforms; current best LSTM at MAE 2.92 mmHg over 12 LOPO folds. Same advisor.
Beyond the curriculum
PhysioNet credentialed-access training and CITI ethics modules (Data or Specimens Only Research, Conflicts of Interest), plus the Cyfrin Updraft smart-contracts course on the side, to round out the systems side with on-chain primitives.
