Ongoing freelance work as the web developer for Sunrise Drilling, a Kenyan drilling company. Corporate site with dynamic services, a secure admin backend, and a Grafana dashboard for keeping an eye on traffic and uptime.
What's running
A corporate site for a Kenyan drilling company: services, project gallery, contact and lead-capture flow. Nothing flashy, but every part of it is supposed to keep running unattended for months at a time, which is the harder bar.
What I built
- Django + PostgreSQL with a secure admin backend so the team can update services and project galleries without touching code.
- Grafana dashboards for traffic, response times, and uptime — connected directly to Postgres counters and nginx logs.
- Standard hardening: HTTPS via Let's Encrypt, fail2ban, UFW, principle-of-least-privilege deploy user.
The interesting parts are operational. Making the site quiet when it should be quiet is harder than making it loud.
